Meeting with guide and departure in the direction of Ispica.
Arrival at the archaeological site of Cava d’Ispica and visit of the excavations, ancient rock settlements carved out of limestone. Entrance to an ancient Water mill , evidence of a peasant civilization and a thriving past in the area, which must certainly have been rich in waterways.
Here it is possible to observe some rooms reconstructed according to ancient peasant habits, a sort of ethno-anthropological museum that brings the visitor back to the image of now distant civilizations such as the miller's house, full of ancient furnishings , the laundry, the stable, the barn, where time seems to have stopped. Stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, stroll along the streets of the historic center of the city of Ispica, characterized by the presence of splendid Baroque monuments. Among these, the semi-elliptical “Loggiato” designed by Vincenzo Sinatra and the “ Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore ” stand out.
